My mosaic practice began with an attraction to a process that allowed for salvaged pieces to come together as a whole. An old table with a peeling veneer became the substrate for my first work, sparked by watching the DIY network while I nursed my babies. Curious and undeterred by inexperience, I visited local tile stores and gathered discarded samples panels, combining them with broken dishes to begin my first direct-method mosaic. Completing that initial piece ignited a lasting devotion to working with pieces of glass and crockery, a process of restoration and self-care for me, because my day job was Social Work. Slow and colorful, my pieces offered me a space for internal focus and renewal. In recent years, multiple relocations have disrupted my ability to sustain a consistent studio practice and I yearn for an immersive experience to rejuvenate and deepen my work—reconnecting with a contemplative process that has long been central to my creative life and
